BLUE HILL GOLF COURSE

The course is a 27 hole championship golf facility owned and operated by the Town of Orangetown, overlooking Lake Tappan in the hamlet of Pearl River. The course is available to the public, with preferential tee times and rates for Town residents. The course also contains a full service restaurant with facilities for catering and a fully stocked Pro Shop. Information about the course is available through the Recreation Department, or at the course.

Built by Julius Brausdorf, the founder of Pearl River in 1873, it is still in use today.

PARKS

Pascack North
The Pascack North Park was acquired to preserve the banks of the Pascack Brook. The entrance is off West Washington Avenue in Pearl River off of Old Pascack Road. The Pascack South entrance is on west Washington Avenue just past Washington Place in Pearl River.

Open space area along the Pascack Brook, preserved for fishing, is stocked with trout and several bait fish; it is also used for hiking and passive enjoyment.

Pilgrim Court Park
1.5 acres of grassy land and playground equipment. Entrance on Pilgrim Court off of Veteran's Parkway in Pearl River.

Braunsdorf Memorial
Braunsdorf is the oldest park in Orangetown, with veteran's memorials, World War l cannon and grounds for strolling, reading and relaxing in the heart of Pearl River. It is at the corner of Central Avenue and Main Street.

Cherry Brook
This site includes handball and tennis courts, as well as a multi-use asphalt court, children's play area and walking path. Entrance is on Madison Avenue adjacent to Franklin Avenue School.

Central Avenue Field
The field owned by the Pearl River School District, contains a playground, ballfield, gazebo and other site amenities. It is the site of many community celebrations including Independence Day Fireworks. Entrances are on Central Avenue and Franklin Avenue next to the Pearl River Fire House.

Veteran’s Memorial
It is the Town’s most active park site with athletic fields and tennis courts, playgrounds, batting cages, a concession stand, jogging paths and two ponds. On Veterans Memorial Drive.

Henry V. Borst Memorial Gardens
Three acre arboretum with many species of shrubs and rare trees including an apple orchard, summer picnic pagoda and Borst residence, now home to the gardens caretaker. Entrance on North Main Street in Pearl River between East Lewis and East George Avenue.
